Fodbold Klub København (FCK), one of Copenhagen's soccer teams, is playing in the UEFA Cup. The stadium is just a short walk from where I work, so I decided to go to FCK's first UEFA game of the season against Greek team Panathenikos. FCK ended up losing 0-1, but the atmosphere was incredible. Chanting, cheering, and clapping the entire game. Non-stop energy from the crowd. It probably didn't hurt that the entire Greek population of Copenhagen was around me in the visiting team's section. Everything is rather expensive here, but that said, the price of the ticket was a reasonable 200kr (~$38). The game's constant energy and flow exceeded that of any sporting event I've experienced in the US.
Here's a link to more pictures from the game

Like i was telling you before, i have always wanted to go to a futbol game over in europe. I bet it was pretty sweet. maybe there will be a game going on when i come over.
Were the Greek team's colors green and white? And was their mascot a four leaf clover?? If so, it was Parthenikos' futbol riots that I got caught in when I was in Athens!!! Cool! If not, well...still cool!
Yep, green and white with four-leaf clover = Panathinaikos FC. And I believe the riots, they were rabid fans. I took video of them chanting that I will post sometime.
Do they think they're Irish?
Way to go GREECE!!!
